Listening to and about alumni

New series and podcast alert!

Dear Friends,

Last week I recorded a new series and podcast episode on Alumless World that goes live today! You can access this new LinkedIn series on global alumni trends here and the podcast here

I like to share many resources with this Alumni Friday community, so you can re-energize yourself, once a week, about the importance of alumni connection. Here is a link to some of my favourite podcasts to inspire alumni and alumni professionals from the Alumni Friday archive.

Listening is golden. I am a self-confessed interrupter, something I am working on for 2025! That said, as a researcher and sociologist I do listen, deeply for meaning and nuance. I have a focus group planned for this week involving future alumni - I am looking forward to insight!

Your challenge this week: (it's not what you think!)

For alumni facing professionals: Take the time to listen to your alumni. Invite an alum for a (virtual) coffee, listen to their desires and needs. Don't make this an easy task: invite an alum who has complained or offered constructive feedback - this is a chance for candid feedback!

For alumni and students: Invite an alum for an informational interview, or seek out 15 minutes of time with an alumni facing professional so YOU can offer your views, but also listen to their challenges. What a treat and opportunity to learn!

If you haven't delved into the Alumni Friday archive this is the time! The Alumni Way is still 50% off until the end of January - use BUP2S here to get your copy! For bulk order hit reply and I will set you up!

Last chance! Join us in Porto for ICARe 2025 Conference - May 9-10! Submit your abstract for a 10-minute presentation here

It's been a while since I opened my calendar to new connections! Workshops, inspiring keynotes, online advisory and research I can help to improve the work of your team and your alumni! Setup a Discovery call and let's talk.

All ears to alumni,

Maria
