2025 and an Alumni Revolution
Is this decade bringing alumni innovation?
Dear Friends,
Can you believe we are mid-decade already? In 2020, I presented a vision of a special new decade ahead, one where dynamic alumni connection is at the helm. In 2023, I reviewed this vision, in light of the pandemic, giving a resounding YES to the ability for alumni connection to be a fundamental game changer for this decade.
Today, I remain steadfast to this vision. Alumni relations has reinvented itself to embrace the online space and re-embrace its 'high touch' in-person events. This is the decade where alumni resources, including The Alumni Way and Engaging International Alumni as Strategic Partners were published. Podcasts like Alumless (watch LIVE on LinkedIn!) gained traction. We are doing a lot to support alumni-facing professionals.
For those new to this e-newsletter, I like to present a challenge each week. This week is one for students, alumni and alumni-facing professionals:
What one practical thing can YOU do today, Alumni Friday, to promote the power of alumni to someone who needs it in your network?
Over the past year I have heard terrific personal stories of how alumni connection has helped with career development in South Africa, getting a prestigious horticulture work placement in Canada, postgraduate insights for a prospective student in Germany and even a Board Directorship in Ireland.
Spread the alumni love in 2025 - let's show that alumni connection works!!
